Full Project Description

This project was a little different than others as we were contracted to design a dormer bungalow within a Conservation area on a garden plot with very limited space. The site was very unusual in its shape in that it was tapered making the site more difficult. We had many external influences to attend with on top of the usual architectural design,  site constraints and parking requirements. During design feasibility we produced numerous different design to create the finished property. With our clients input and approval we settled on a uniquely shape building that best suited to the site and its surroundings.

The design footprint we decided on was to be a ‘T’ shaped property in plan. This maximise the sites unusual shape and also the accommodation space internally. We produced a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom dormer bungalow with great ground floor living space and parking off-street for 2 vehicles.  We were conscious at all times during the design process that our client wanted to complete a self-build for the very first time, therefore our construction approach needed to be thought out in great detail to reduce the risk of over-spend and simplify the construction methods to ease on site construction. We believe this was fully achieved and our clients produce a building of very high standard on schedule and on budget.
