We were recently appointed to add two high quality extensions that provided dual purpose, designed to be fully in keeping to the front elevation but ultra modern to the rear. With our client brief to demolish the existing failing conservatory and replace it with a unique designer garden room extension and to include a self-contained mezzanine office extension to the side. The side extension office has been designed with floating mezzanine first floor level with gallery spaces to allow informal interaction between ground and first floor, with 35 foot full height feature book shelf and glass walk way this office design will be spectacular from all angles. The ‘L’ shaped garden room extension is very special and one SDA Architecture is extremely excited about.

The link garden room has a full height planar glazed connector to provide a clear divide between the old and new, the design is very simple but very effective making the best use of space and natural light, maximising the sun path throughout the day. With the inclusion of a bespoke structural glazed wall and roof it will allow our client to fully enjoy the seasons, the copper capping details to the flat roof, white silico render combined with the anthracite grey aluminium windows and doors will create a fabulous external facades. With the large exterior improvements we included the existing property upgrades to the rear to be the installation of silver birch cladding, upgraded aluminium windows, frame-less bay window to the living room and dark grey rainwater upgrades that truly blend the rear elevation to create a very special home.

This unique house blends a very traditional frontage to the existing street scene but opens up a contemporary living experience that will be breath taking.
