Full Project Description

We have been comissioned to produce a detailed planning application package to convert an existing disused cattle shed located within ‘Greenbelt’, in Aspull, Wigan, Lancashire into a luxury 3/4 bedroom family home. After visiting the site it was clear that the building needs major reconstruction and structural integrity works including underpinning to the entire property.

We have decided within the design brief to develop the property with traditional workmanship that will be infused by modern construction methods and details. High quality materials, the reintroduction of an oak timber frame and full height glazing will create a light, traditional but modern, clean twist on barn living.

The finished barn will comprise of a central entrance hall with full height oak bi-fold doors to both sides that will be used to define the communal entrance space, during entertaining these doors can be fully opened to create open plan living, an open staircase with associated gallery landing allowing dual floor views, large kitchen dining space with link utility with external access, cloak WC off the hall, through dining room with dual fuel feature fireplace interlinking to the formal snug living area with oak bi-folding doors leading to the external courtyard and countryside views.

The first floor will include 1 master bedroom suite with dressing room and ensuite, 2/3 additional bedrooms with linked ensuite and gallery feature double height landing space. The blend of architectural design and high specification, merged with traditional craftsmanship will create a luxury family residence.
