When first visiting the property it was clear that the interior arrangement of the spaces did not function correctly, long corridors and multiple small rooms made the property feel enclosed and restricted of space even though it covers nearly 200 square metres as a footprint. Producing our initial design appraisal it was clear that a new interior design layout was required for this property to be a success and to meet our clients requirements.
The inclusion of our central atrium extension was put forward to create a natural flow to all rooms and allowing the proposed floor plan to have multi-forms when entertaining and socialising, however, equally the ability to close off rooms to create more intermit spaces for general living was also a client requirement. It also creates within the overall design a much required link to the expansive rear garden area.
The new proposal included the creation of a new living room with feature chimney breast providing a key focal point to the large room; the removal of three load bearing walls within the existing kitchen and dining room areas to create a large open plan spectacular kitchen living zone; the removal of two bedrooms to create one large master bedroom with ensuite wet room; an additional bedroom within accompanying ensuite and downstairs visitors cloak. The inclusion of the zinc and glazed atrium allows all the rooms to flow seamlessly from area to area.
The new proposal will create rooms that are infused with natural light, creating an airy, modern living environment.
