Park Road Cottage, Billinge, SDA Architecture has recently been commissioned to create a moderate traditional two storey extension design to the side of the existing cottage. Our design is to incorpoate an enlarged kitchen dining space, with an adjoining utility room on the ground floor with a direct link to the rear garden area for entertaining and to take advantage of the countryside views beyond. We have produced designs for a two storey side extension and new entrance porch with the design emphasis being to develop and produce a design that is in keeping with the existing details of the property so as not to alter the overall character.

On the first floor we have redesigned the layout to the existing property by relocating the bathroom back to its original position allowing the front elevation to be free of drainage works, the extension area is to include a new master bedroom with attached ensuite and dressing room. We have incorporated a vaulted ceiling within the new addition with feature Oak roof structures remaining visible providing a contrast between the lime plaster white ceiling.

Within the design we are going to maintain the link to the cottages history by reintroducing the  randomly coursed sandstone to the proposed extension area enhancing the cottages charm and hertiage.
