Full Project Description

Bar & Restaurant:

The Brassiere at the Bull is a brand new luxurious, modern British Gastro pub situated in West Yorkshire. The atmosphere at the Brassiere was designed to be relaxed, friendly and informal, delivering the customer experience with an overall impression of a comfortable, light, open and luxurious entertaining venue.

Our Role:

SDA Architecture was appointed to redevelop a disused and run down pub in the centre of Halifax, West Yorkshire into a contemporary bar and restaurant. The building had a strong presence within the town centre and good architectural merit and features which we decided to try and maintain throughout our design development.

Our client’s brief was to produce a modern, contemporary wine bar at ground floor level and a restaurant area at first floor.  The original interior layouts were very problematic so we decided to completely redesign the internal floors plans which involved large structural alterations to the interior fabric of the building to produce a more open plan and bright design layout.

The Brassiere of the Bull was fully completed in 2008 and has great reviews as a building that is traditional to the exterior but lavish but contemporary on the interior.
