We have recently been appointed to produce architectural designs to create a modern family bungalow in Rainford, St. Helens. Within the designs we have created a 4 bedroom bungalow with large ground floor entertaining spaces and a spacious family kitchen that links directly to the large rear garden plot.

The main entrance to the kitchen has been redesigned to incorporate a set of fully glazed parliament hinged double doors that provide the option of open plan living as and when desired. On entering the kitchen we have included a large bespoke multi function central island. This provides the room with a strong focal point which draws the eye down the kitchen, through the two metre wide glazed patio doors and into the large garden to the rear. Doing this will create an illusion of depth to the room and brings the garden into the kitchen. The central island can also be utilised as a large breakfast bar and creates additional work surfaces and storage.

In order to ensure the kitchen is flooded with natural light throughout the day we have introduced four Velux skylight windows into the vaulted roof space and included additional feature full height picture windows to both the front and side elevation. Not only do these provide extra light to the room but also allows the occupant to enjoy views to every aspect of the garden.

We have also designed a new canopy above the main entrance to the house. The reasoning behind this is not only the practical aspect of cover from the elements, but is to also distinguish the main entrance door from the secondary kitchen entrance, as they are both in close proximity to each other and can both be viewed from the street.

A secondary external entrance directly into the kitchen has been incorporated into the design for the purpose of practicality to the design. The overall feel of the bungalow will be light, airy contemporary home creating a modern living environment.
