SDA Architecture has recently been instructed to produce designs for retaining wall structure including off-road parking and access. Within our works we have been asked to produce a single storey side extension for our clients that will provide additional living accommodation to their growing family. Our design concept is to produce a retaining wall that is both functional and pleasing to the eye that will gentle allow our clients to walk from the proposed car parking area to the house with minimal effect, the inclusion of hard and soft landscaping will allow the retaining wall to balance nicely within the functional and beautiful bracket.

Our concept for the extension is to provide a full height vaulted extension space that links directly from the current kitchen area to allow the flow and circulation to be effortless from room to room and to allow a integration of spaces when entertaining or needing a quiet space to relax. The traditional construction will allow the full height king post truss design to be the main architectural design feature with a cathedral like setting, this linked with bi-folding doors will allow our client a clear link between the interior and exterior spaces. The inclusion of the new retaining wall also allows the garden to be one level and much more child friendly when in use.
