Full Project Description

The very functional and practical style of this rear private extension was designed to create a bright family living zone and kitchen that provided a direct link into the garden. The design emphasis was driven towards delivering large amounts of natural daylight into the heart of the living space and kitchen area, with a mono-pitch style roof design and full length gable skylight it maximises its southerly orientation.

The open plan design was created by designing an ‘H’ steel roof grid that allowed all the existing walls to be fully removed creating the large open plan modern look. We decided with our client to use the same stone tiles that we designed in the garden patio area to be installed into the kitchen area.

This use of flooring and low level door threshold detail creates a seamless join from inside to outside  when the doors are fully opened, thus creating a impression of much larger floor area. We would say that this design was very pleasing to work on and a fantastic space once completed. We were appointed on a full engagement to produce approvals for Planning and Building Regulations approvals along with assisting our client with on site project co-ordination.
